Cold Bus Rides [Semi Eita x Reader]

“Are you cold?”

His voice broke your silent dispute with the air conditioning unit, making you turn your face to meet his eyes, shivering ever so slightly all the while.

“No, it’s fine.” You said in a quiet voice, not wanting to wake up the other volleyball members who were sleeping inside the bus.

You laid your head on his shoulder, watching the scenery pass by rapidly as you looked outside the window.

Without warning, he wrapped one of his arms around you, with his hands finding their way to yours. A blush adorned your face as you suddenly found yourself flushed to his chest, which you found was warm and comfortable.

“E-eita-kun?”

He nuzzled his face to your hair, taking a deep breath of your vanilla scent before exhaling blithely.

“I’m glad you could come, (F/N).”

A bashful smile slowly appeared on your lips, and you closed your eyes as you resigned to the warmth of his embrace.

“Me too, Eita-kun.”

He did not need any more words to say how contented he was, for his steady heartbeat spoke the words that he could not say right next to your ear as you listened to it intently. Lullabied by his heartbeat and the balm of his aftershave, you began to nod off to sleep, and so did he.

“OY OY OY! SEMII! YOU CAN’T BE FLUFFY AND SWEET IN FRONT OF US! AGEGFJWEND-” Tendou’s voice quickly pulled you out your stupor, making you shift with Semi as the both of you looked to where he was seated.

“Shut up, Satori.” Ushijima cuts him off, making Tendou turn his attention away from the two of you to his stoic friend, whining about how ‘the display of affection is an insult to the singles’.

Semi awkwardly cleared his throat as you both returned to your original position; with arms stiffer than before and a blush that never left his cheeks.

“I-I..u-uh,” you interrupted him with a giggle, snuggling closer to him as you said,

“You look cute when you blush, Eita-kun. You should do that more.”

Leaving him a stuttering, red-faced mess as his heart melted at your words.
